Towers on Stairs Course
Towers on Stairs teaches delegates how to build stepped towers. The course covers current legislation, regulations and guidance for towers in general, and focuses on hazards specific to using them on stairs. Both theory and practical sessions are held during this full day course.

Course content | Current Legislation, Regulations and Guidance affecting working atheight with access towers, PASMA Code of Practice; Product StandardsEN 1004:2004; BS 1139 Part 6, assembling, altering and dismantlingtowers incorporating current best practice for fall protection,inspection of completed access towers and completion of TowerInspection Records; hazards affecting the use of towers on stairs. |

Venue requirement | A suitable classroom to accommodate 8 delegates for the theorysession and an indoor / outdoor staircase for the practical session |
Supporting Documents | A course content and notes booklet and a current Code of Practicebooklet will be issued to all delegates who attend the course |
Award | A PASMA Certificate and PhotoCard will be issued to successfuldelegates who complete the Theory and Assessment sessions at thelevel they attend the course which has a five year validity period |
Literacy, Fitness & Health(Extract from the PASMA Code of Practice) | Since the safe use of mobile towers requires that you consult safety notices and readand thoroughly understand the manufacturer’s instruction manual, literacy andlanguage comprehension are important requirements for any tower userSimilarly, since the assembly and use of mobile access towers can be physicallydemanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally,not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure,epilepsy, fear of heights / vertigo, giddiness / difficulty with balance, impaired limbfunction, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illnessIf delegates have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have anydoubts about their fitness to use mobile access towers, they must bring them to theattention of their employer. This need not preclude them from using mobile accesstowers, provided their employer conducts an assessment and is able to put into placeadequate measures, to take account of any difficulties they may have |
Qualifications & Experience | You must hold a current PASMA “Towers for Users” PhotoCard andhave a good working knowledge of working at height |
